About Love Azusa

The mission of Love Azusa is to use an asset-based community development framework to connect Azusa residents to resources, services, and opportunities. Love Azusa was established in May 2022 under the direction of Dr. Margaret Lee, Assistant Professor of Social Work at Azusa Pacific University.  Love Azusa’s projects have been developed by students earning their Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Azusa Pacific University, many of whom are Azusa residents.

Our name “Love Azusa” has two meanings:

  1. Love, Azusa (adverb): this work represents all of the amazing resources, services, and opportunities the city of Azusa offers its residents. The city of Azusa loves its residents!

  2. Love Azusa (verb): this work also represents a source of pride for Azusa residents, creating a sense of community and connectedness. We love the city of Azusa!

Love Azusa is funded by the Canyon City Foundation and the Azusa Pacific University Department of Social Work
